Monster Creepy Crawlies – February 2006
Three days of drop-in activities for young children at Chambers Street Museum, Edinburgh to tie in with the exhibition. We did Pixilation and animation with a wide age range (5 to 17)
                                                                                        
StirlingCowie Primary School - January to March 2006
Red Kite worked with this Primary 7 class to make a music video based on crazily mixed tracks of their choice. Part of an ongoing arts project in the Stirling area, these animation workshops resulted in a fantastic 3 minute video.

Go4It! – Easter and Summer, annually
A series of 3 day workshops for secondary school children in the holidays. Part of a much larger Edinburgh Council project to provide hundreds of amazing events for children.  DVD’s of the resulting films are given to all participants.

Play4it – Summer, annually
Similar to Go4it, but smaller. Several single day workshops for children from P4 to P7.  

Arts across the Curriculum project
Kincorth Academy (Secondary school) - June 2006
Successful 5 day workshop with 4 children (15-16 years) in this secondary school in Aberdeen. The kids worked really well and made a DVD to give info about the school to the new kids coming up. We used lots of techniques including Blue screening some cut out characters and putting them on live action backgrounds.

Arts across the Curriculum project
Kirkhill Primary – June 2006
This Primary 6 class were asked to make an animated advert to promote the product they were making for the sports day (part of their “Enterprise” class) They recorded own dialogue and worked in groups to make adverts in 4 days.

Whitfield, Dundee - Jan 2006
A small adult group made a short film a whale that came up the River Tay, based on a true story.

Arbroath - 2006
Four secondary school classes were asked to make adverts for healthy eating. The children were taught by the animators over a 3 day time scale. The project ended in all 80 children animating at same time with the schools digital stills cameras and editing the films themselves. They held a mock Oscar ceremony a few weeks later and presented prizes.

Wester Hailes Arts Center (WHALE)
Despite Jim and Henry's appalling French, we managed to conduct a one day workshop to a visiting class from France, with only their class teacher to translate.

Royal Edinburgh Hospital
Short workshop in the Children's unit of the hospital. Lots of fun.

Kaleidoscope festival – Sept 2006
3 day workshops at 6 different schools in Aberdeenshire. The festival was organised by Simon hart (of Puppet and Animation Festival) Primary 6 and 7 children were asked to make stories about their local areas or local characters. All films were put onto one DVD and linked together as a bus tour. Two of the films have been accepted to the 2007 “Co-Operative Film Festival” in Bradford. Click here to see all that happened

Numerous brilliant single day workshops in the Borders at various youth groups.

Aliens Inc - A VOMO Animation
This Stop Motion and Cut-Out animation was created over 8 days by young people from across the Scottish Borders. VOMO is a video empowerment project for young people in the Scottish Borders who want to make films about issues that are important to them.

Puppet and Animation Festival – March-April Annually
Red Kite is proud to be part of this 20 year old festival. Workshops range from 2 hour introductions through to 3 day film making events. Venues are varied, from arts centres, libraries, community education centres, schools, adult learning projects and Yorkhill Hospital.
